How would you make muddy water clear again? How do you get clear water from salty water? Is the process the same, why or why not?

A filtration system is used to make muddy water clear again in order to separate the mixture of water with particles.

A solution is an homogeneous body while the mixture is an heterogeneous body.

1. Filter the water.

Those are two different processes. Muddy water is a mixture. To get clean water from the muddy water you have to filter it using cotton, cloth, paper, rocks, sand, etc. Salty water is a solution. To get clear water from the salty water you need to heat the solution and capture the water vapors. While cooling, water vapors would form clean water.

To make muddy water clean again you would need a filtration system, however, with salt water you need to boil the water so that it eveporates and the vapor is trappes and you are left with the salt separated. They are diffrent processes because muddy water is a mixture, heterogenous (It is seen as two diffrent substances) and salt water is a solution, homogenous (it is seen as one).

Getting clear water from salty is a solution since you need to evaporate or go through a chemical process. to get clear water from muddy water you can just filter it, its like separating red marbles from white marbles. so its not the same process ones a solution and the other is a mixture(marb

Nika: muddy water is a mixture (heterogeneous). To make it clear again you need to filter it so that the mixture is separated and only clear water is left. For salty water, it is a solution (homogeneous). Which means that to make it clear you need to boil it and catch the vapor. this will make the solution separate.

I would make muddy water clear again with a water filter. However, to get clear water from salty water I would boil it. The process is not the same because the first one is a mixture (heterogeneous), while the second one is a solution (homogeneous), and for each of them there are different processes to make the water clean.

to have clear water out of muddy water, you filter the mud out. to get clear water out of salty water you boil the water to get clear water vapour. The process is not the same because one process is filtering, while the other is boiling. One is filter while the other is extraction. For the salty water, you need to separate the substances through a specific process, while for muddy water a simple filter is enough.

To make salty water clear again one must boil it (evaporate) to eliminate salt and sea bacteria. To make muddy water clear again one must use a filtration system.
