We use different shoes for different task because of the friction in the sol. People use soccer shoes so we can grab into de ground and each task has their own shoes for better performance. Its the same in running shoes, the sol is better for grabing in to the ground and better sol in the inside that adjusts to your feet.

We should wear different shoes for different tasks because of friction. You won't wear crocs on a rainy day because the sole of the shoe will slip, since the rubber sole will not create friction with the wet floor.

As we have learned thanks to Ms P. friction is essential in our everyday life. Luckily for us there are various types of shoes for us to hold onto the floor and not slip. When we go barefoot skiing in a lake, we indeed don't use any additional shoes because more friction is created and you fall. While climbing an iceberg you must were a platform with nails under your shoes.
