The cold water was the only one to really inflate. this is because when it is cold the particles contract, when its hot the particles expand. so as soon as the cold bottle got in contact with the heat the particles expanded and were searching for a way out so it inflates the balloon. The first one contracted because the particles contracted with the cold temperature. The second one expanded a little because the change in temperatures wasn't so drastic.

Actually the one that really inflated was the one from the freezer placed in hot water. This happened because the hot water heated the air particles, this giving them more kinetic energy and thus making them expand the balloon.

My predictions were correct. The explanation is that the ballon that was already inflated inflated really fast because it already had air. The other ballon inflated 50% and the other ballon did not inflated at all because the molecules are freezing and do not move much.

1. Didn't inflate - prediction correct. The water was cold, so it made the particles in the bottle contract, that is why the balloon shrunk.

My prediction was right, except that the cold, first one shrinked. It shrinked because the particles were condensed up to a point were the little air already in the ballon was shrinked even more, all of that because the cold water slowed down the particles.
